- Lamium, or dead nettle, is a perennial ground cover, often with variegation.
- Stone crop sedum, for instance, and English lily ( Houttania, a real invader ), pachysandra, myrtle and dead nettles.
- Goutweed ( Aegopodium ), lungwort ( Pulmonaria ) and dead nettle ( Lamium ) are all good ground covers for semishady areas, and all come in excellent silvery or white-speckled varieties.
- For 16 percent of the species studied, the first flowering date in the 1990s shifted by an average of 15 days . The greatest change was for a plant called the white dead nettle.
